I'm no longer a hostage!

January 8, 2014

Today marks my 11th day on the jumpstart diet. I can't believe how not hungry I am all day long. I am no longer hostage to food! I eat every three hours and within 30 minutes to one hour of waking up. Miraculously I have not cheated on this diet like diets before and it's working incredibly. Every day I get on the scale and the numbers keep going down and down. Some days only by .2 other days .4 and .6, it's fabulous! Someone please pinch me.

I know the first week or two is about losing a lot of bloat and water weight. But as of this morning my scale says that I am 8 pounds lighter than when I started 11 days ago. Unbelievable. I am waiting for a plateau to arrive any day. I hope I survive it when it comes.

Aside from the weight-loss, I feel a lot better. My pants are starting to fit better. I have more energy, especially now that my head cold is subsiding. And I'm not hungry all day long. It is so weird. But oh so nice!

I haven't been doing vigorous exercise lately because of my head cold. But I plan to start again tomorrow with my Jillian Michaels workout DVDs. I wonder if that is going to change my weight-loss at all? I'll be sure to let you know.

That's the update on me. How are you all doing? I heard from Kris yesterday that she's up to almost 10 pounds. Go Kris!!!

Happy and healthy eating to you all, Kathy

  1. Kathy- that's awesome!! I agree with you on feeling better. My joints don't ache anymore and I have tons of energy. I don't even miss the carbs.

I went to a fancy wine event tonight. The food they served was amazing! Mostly meats and veggies, very few carbs and the portions were small. It was great. I enjoyed myself without stressing out about food.

I'm officially down 9.2 lbs as of my weigh-in on Tuesday. I have a challenging weekend ahead of me. I'll be in Seattle all weekend working at a trade show. My plan is to go to the grocery Store and get some healthy lunch and snack items. I just have to figure out how to keep everything cold. Wish me luck!!

Oh, I wore a sassy skirt tonight which I haven't' been able to wear in a while. It felt awesome!!

  2. Hooray for sassy skirts! Good luck this weekend. Bring your insulated lunch tote filled with celery, string cheese, apples, almonds, bite size pieces of chicken, etc. You can do it!
